Easy and Worry-Free

Lori, Jamie, and Sherron were absolutely wonderful to work with and Tropical Maui Weddings really made our wedding day spectacular! Planning a destination wedding already has so many logistically challenges but the team at TMW made everything easy and worry-free. I really felt like I could trust Lori with all the details to make everything work well and look amazing. Her communication was great as she was always quick to answer emails especially in the last few weeks leading up to our wedding. My husband and I both felt like Lori and her team really wanted to make our day special and to accommodate all of our needs. All of the vendors Lori recommended were also fantastic. I didn’t have a clear picture of what I wanted but by following TMW and some of their favorite vendors on Instagram, we were able to put together an idea of how we wanted everything to look. Lori and her team then made it all a reality on our big day! Our guests loved everything, especially the venue (Olowalu Plantation House) and drinks (Aloha Bars Maui). We honestly have no complaints about our experience and would definitely recommend Tropical Maui Weddings!!

OMG is the only way I can put it when talking about Lori and her team at TMW. Their response time, accuracy, and recommendations were by far amazing and made planning my wedding easier than imaginable. The people I was worried about pleasing left our event without words. The little details were taken care of without me needing to worry or get involved. Lori had every single thing taken care of which allowed me to enjoy the day and take in all the special moments of it stress free. Everyone asks me what part of my wedding was the best and I always say my wedding planner. This team deserves all of the recognition possible because they do their job and more. We Love Hugs!

Lori and Jamie are amazing! Not only are they good at what they do; they are good people. I genuinely feel a connection to the two of them and felt sad after the wedding that I would no longer be in close communication with them but as Lori promised, we have not lost touch.

Lori did such a wonderful job of taking care of every single detailed request I had. Now, word to the wise, if you are a “type A” Cali girl like me, take a chill pill! You’re getting married in Hawaii and “Hawaiian time” is a real thing. People are relaxed and are not in a constant rush like I am. I hired Lori a year before my wedding and was ready to hit the ground running and when it took her a couple of days or so to reply, I would get stressed out. Rest assured, not only is she going to take care of it, she will do such a good job taking care of it that you will not have to think about it again.

I did not lift a finger during the day of the wedding. I was fortunate enough to get married at Olowalu Plantation House and sat on the porch the whole morning and watched the ocean. Lori had everything under control and I never did a thing or answered a question other than, “what would you like to drink?” Lori had it all under control and made my wedding picture perfect! There was not a single thing I would have changed. Everything I had pictured in my mind for my wedding day was now a reality. Lori kept the timeline and vendors in order and I had to put zero thought into anything the day of because Lori had it all covered. Even at the end of the night when there’s a million things to do and wrap up, Lori had it all packed up and ready for us to go. She even made sure the sentimental items were well taken care of and wrapped up so that they would not get lost or damaged. If it matters to you, it matters to Lori.

You cannot go wrong with Lori. She is warm, friendly and very professional. And then there’s Jamie. Sweet, sweet Jamie. He sang at our cocktail hour and his voice was heaven. After the ceremony and the chaos of photos and family, hearing Jamie’s soothing voice just made it all go away. These two are one amazing package deal! They feel like family and that’s saying so much!
There’s so much that I can write in this review about all the wonderful things they did and all the things that they took care of but really all I feel like a bride needs to know is that Lori and Jamie will make sure that your big day will be perfect and they will love you and help you like you are their own daughter. You will be in good loving hands and your day will go off without a hitch with them on your side.

P.S. hug Lori as much as possible! She gives great comforting hugs and she smells good too!

Stress Free and Perfect Wedding

Tropical Maui Weddings made a stressful topic and experience so stress free. I didn’t have any worries on my special day. Everything was perfect and all the details just sealed the deal. They are so professional and so kind. Easy to talk to and made my wedding stress free and literally perfect. All of the guests enjoyed it and so did I. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Lori Is The Best!

STOP looking for other wedding coordinators, Lori and Tropical Maui Weddings are the best!

My husband and I were planning a destination wedding in Maui in less than 4 months and knew we needed someone we could trust. We interviewed a bunch of different wedding coordinators from all over the island and after talking with Lori, I knew in my heart this was going to be the perfect match.

Lori is the best! She is not only a great person at heart, but also very experienced and knowledgeable in her work. After talking with her about what we envisioned in our wedding, she was able to give us great recommendations and vendors that would fit our style perfectly. She is on top of her emails and texts and will respond and get back to you very quickly, no matter if the questions are big or small. I very much appreciated all the quick responses; the wedding process can be stressful and always hearing back from Lori so soon put my worries at ease.

Also, if you’re looking for a great Hawaiian singer for your wedding, ask Lori about her husband Jamie! He has the most amazing voice that makes your heart melt just listening to his songs. Jamie sang “Maunaleo” as I walked down the aisle and I get tears in my eyes just thinking back to that wonderful day.

Lori from start to finish in the wedding process made me feel relaxed and confident that everything was going to be okay. From the food to the flowers and to even the place settings, Lori made it all happen. She helped us put together a wedding better than we could have dreamed of. We had the most amazing wedding day! I am so thankful for all that she has done for us and I highly recommend her and Tropical Maui Weddings to anyone that is planning a wedding on the island or even the mainland. She is the best!

Thank You From The Huffs!

Another beaming 5-star review for TM Weddings, but it is so deserved. Simply put, Lori is amazing. She is so sweet and friendly and her main priority is making your dream wedding a reality. Planning a destination wedding from 3,000 miles away has it’s challenges, but Lori will put you at ease. She had amazing vendor recommendations, respected our budget and made the process stress free. We also saved a lot of money by using Lori- we got some great deals due to her extensive network and great relationships with so many of the vendors on Maui. My husband and I came for a pre-wedding visit to meet some of our vendors (and Lori!) and she set up everything perfectly. It was definitely a sign of things to come for our actual wedding!

No request was bothersome and even though I’m very type A (I was probably Lori’s most annoying and over bearing bride), she took everything in stride and made me feel like I wasn’t crazy! She’s incredibly organized and remembered every little detail I had asked about, even if it was months prior.

Fast forward to our wedding day, it was BEYOND what I had imagined. It was so beautiful and I was so happy with our vendors and how the look came together. It was truly better than I could have imagined. There were really no hiccups and it went smoothly, thanks to Lori’s amazing organizational skills. Side note, Lori’s husband Jamie is an amazing musician- we used him for our cocktail music and it was perfect. My dad is a musician and was blown away by him (as were all our guests)! Lori was super helpful in helping us pick vendors, based on our vibe and she was dead on. We used:

HMU: MeiLi Autumn Beauty (Bree and Randall killed it).
Catering: Cafe O’Lei (the Mahi was a hit, as were the appetizers. Gorgeous presentation).
DJ:Dj Del (He’s hilarious and really knows how to get a party started).
Bar: Aloha Bars Maui (definitely one of the all-stars of the night- fresh, delicious hand crafted cocktails).
Officiant: Tino Rosete (He gave a beautiful, meaningful ceremony. There were so many compliments on him!).
Signage: Miss B Calligraphy (gorgeous work!)
Cake: Sugar Beach (We had the Queen Emma, it was INSANELY delicious).
Floral: Lois Hirinaga (She’s an artist- my flowers were a dream).
Other Dessert: Ululani’s Shave Ice (They set up on the porch and it was such a hit. It’s actually the best shave ice ever and our guests really enjoyed it).
Photo Booth: Strike A Pose Maui (Also a huge hit- the prints matched our invitations perfectly! And the props they provided were amazing).
Photographer: Kim Aihara (WOW, is all I’m going to say. The sneaks we’ve seen so far are incredible).
Videographer: CineMaui (Haven’t seen the final product but I love his other work).

Honestly, I’m still reeling from our wedding and how lovely and special it was. I owe so much of that to Lori and Jamie- they really brought my rustic/chic destination wedding to life. I would recommend them without hesitation for all your Maui wedding needs. I seriously miss talking to Lori now that our wedding is over- she definitely became more of a friend through this whole process. I cannot wait to return to Maui to catch up with her!! Mahalo For Making Our Dreams Come True!

My longest review on Yelp EVER 🙂 🙂

We were just married at Olowalu Plantation 🙂 Lori was our wedding coordinator and Jamie, her husband, was our ceremony and cocktail hour musician. Together, they are the dream team that is…Tropical Maui Weddings!

It’s hard to know where to start, because I am so completely gushy over the whole experience! I am still coming down from the high that was our dream wedding in Maui. But writing this review was one of the first things on my post-wedding “to-do list,” because Lori is such an amazing wedding planner, and made all of my wedding dreams come true.

If you read nothing else, here are the reasons why Lori is the best wedding coordinator for your Maui wedding. She is: Super organized. Totally laid back & friendly. Reassuring. Trustworthy. Knows the industry on the island and recommends the BEST vendors on Maui for your wedding. Has your back from start to finish.

When you’re a bride planning any wedding, especially a destination wedding, TRUST in your wedding planner is a must. From my first phone conversation with Lori, I knew she was the one! LOL. It sounds cheesy, but choosing your wedding coordinator is a big deal. You have to be able to communicate effectively and feel totally at ease with them. Her vibe is so easygoing, laid back, warm and friendly. She made it easy for us to find a connection and trust her 110%. I even connected with some of her previous brides, who Lori introduced to me as her references. (What’s up Betty! Hi Heidi!) and it’s super neat that we now share some of the same experiences.

We started planning our wedding about 11 months prior to the wedding date. In the beginning, I had a couple of phone conversations with Lori to establish the big picture: what type of wedding, how many guests, etc. I knew I wanted to get married at a private estate, and Olowalu was my first choice.

We were told that Lori was the most experienced and favored wedding planner at Olowalu, so that was icing on the cake. In the early months, you should expect a little less contact than you will receive closer to your wedding date. Lori is honest (and super nice!) about putting her brides first (for example, your email might have to wait if there’s a bride whose wedding is that week) – and I not only understood that, I appreciated it. Because when it came time for my wedding, I knew Lori would give me her undivided attention and focus.

90% of our communications were by email, which is great because it allowed me to contact her at my convenience around my full-time job schedule, and also keeps everything on record to refer back to later. Trust me, you’re going to forget some of the details and rely on those emails to remind you what your own choices were! 😉

She makes the planning process easy and puts a range of vendors (caterers, makeup artists, photographers, videographers, etc.) in front of you. She can also make recommendations within those, based on what your wedding vision is.

I have to say our wedding was a total success because of the vendors she recommended — they were all truly the best of the best. Plus, they all had wonderful things to say about Lori, not like we needed the reassurance, but it’s nice to know she is highly regarded in the industry / on the island.

I flew to Maui 3 mos. before my wedding date to meet our vendors, and Lori set our appointments with all of them, making it an easy and stress-free process for us. I recommend a trip to the island prior to your wedding day to meet your vendors in person — it’s just nice to get to know them and have a crystal clear idea of what to expect on your wedding day. We loved all of our vendors and had a blast meeting with them! For the ones we could not meet in person, she helped us coordinate a Skype meeting, which worked perfectly.

Lori kept our budget exactly where we needed it to be, and was super flexible when I changed my mind on a few of our details. On the day of the wedding, she oversees all of the details, from ceremony to cake cutting to reception, and makes sure the day runs seamlessly. She checks in with you periodically, and keeps you and your bridal party on schedule (without feeling like she’s rushing you — which is a superpower in itself).

I found out later that she even ran to the store to buy us bug spray, without me asking her. Turns out that was a life saver because the bridal party got a few bites under the mango tree before photos 🙂 It’s little details like that, doing things behind the scenes without worrying you or charging you for it, that show how amazing a wedding coordinator she is.

At the end of our wedding night, my parents (who also LOVE Lori & Jamie), told Jamie how wonderful Lori had been during the entire planning process. He simply told them, “She is good at it because she just loves doing this. She loves her job.” And I can personally tell you, it shows…in everything she does. Mahalo Lori & Jamie for making our dreams come true!

Like something out of a story book!

Thanks to Lori and Jamie, at Tropical Maui Weddings, my husband and I had a completely stress-free, incredibly spiritual, romantic and fun, perfect wedding, that was like something out of a story book!!!

My husband and I got married in Maui in July this year. It was like a dream wedding. I can’t imagine any way in which our wedding could have been more special. Here we are, living in California. Neither one of us had ever been to Hawaii. I found Lori and Jamie on line, and read the reviews. Lori arranged everything. She was “boots on the ground” in Hawaii, and believe me, she knows everything there is to know about arranging a Hawaiian wedding that you will never, ever forget.
Not only did we have the perfect pastor and photographer, but Lori’s husband Jamie sang at our wedding, and made it incredibly beautiful and memorable. He has the voice of an Angel. Seriously.
From the time we arrived in Maui, she had everything worked out as smooth as silk, with a complete itinerary and instructions on what we should do. We got our wedding license and even had my dress steamed and his suit pressed with instructions on how that should be carried out. Zero stress and nothing but fun and pure enjoyment.

Lori arranged a tailor made venue for us. We were married on a deserted beach (Ironwoods) as the sun was setting, and the sky was bright with color. We even had a rainbow over our heads as we said our vows. Lori found us the perfect restaurant within 5 minutes from the ceremony. This was one of the best days of our lives.

On top of all that, they work within your budget, and try to get you everything you want at a price you can afford. Tropical Maui weddings was worth every penny spent. We are so grateful to Jamie and Lori for their time and care spent to make our day flawless.

Look no further if you want a perfect Maui wedding experience!

The team at Tropical Maui Weddings is truly incredible and one of a kind! Lori, Ana and Jamie are such kind people and you can tell that they all love what they do and take such pride in planning and executing the most amazing weddings! From my first phone call with Lori to our wedding day, everything was absolutely perfect! We planned our wedding from California, and truly could not have pulled it off without Lori and her team! Lori was so warm and sweet and I felt immediately comfortable and confident that we chose her!

Lori gave us vendor recommendations and would make suggestions based on what we’d tell her we were looking for or what aspects were most important to us. I always felt like she had our best interests at heart and truly wanted our day to be everything we wanted it to be. She would bring up things that I had never even thought about, and I was so thankful for her knowledge of the island. She always promptly responded to my many emails (so many!) and was thoroughly organized through the entire process, which for me was so important! She has wonderful relationships with her vendors, which made the planning and big day flow so smoothly.

Lori allowed us to send out anything we would be using for the wedding, and let me tell you that was soooo appreciated and helpful! When we arrived on the island she graciously invited us and my family into her home to go over the details, do a quick run through of the ceremony, and go through all of the boxes/items I had shipped out to her! I walked away from that meeting feeling more relaxed than ever! She also has storage with everything wedding you could possibly imagine that she allowed us to go through and borrow any additional items we needed – I thought this was such an amazing thing to offer to her brides!!

Our wedding day was in May at Olowalu Plantation House (on another note, this is the most beautiful venue EVER. I couldn’t imagine having been married anywhere else). Lori was so on top of it and everything went off without a hitch! Her team kept everything flowing, checked in with us often, fixed my bow, gave us sunscreen…I mean they truly thought of everything and were just such amazing planners/people! There were even a couple of small “hiccups” with a guest or two, and they handled it like absolute pros.

It was the best day ever 🙂 THANK YOU to the TMW team from the bottom of our hearts!! We are so grateful we chose you!!

Look no further! You have found the perfect wedding coordinator. I actually can’t even put into words how grateful we are to have found Lori and Jamie! They created the wedding our dreams with every detail perfectly in place. We felt so cared for and were able to fully relax and enjoy our day to the fullest. Everything was setup to perfection

Lori and Ana helped me plan the wedding of my dreams. They truly take the stress out of planning a destination wedding. Lori and Ana made the process really easy from finding vendors, reaching out to them, signing contracts, making payments etc. From my first phone call to the in-person meeting before the wedding everything was as expected. Ana had everything ready for our meeting 2 days before the wedding and went over the timeline with us. They even have a storage room with a ton of stuff to borrow. Even the communication with vendors and finding vendors that fit your budget was a breeze. The day of the wedding Ana and Lori helped keep everything on track, everything was setup to perfection.
